Praise

Blessed is the man
    who walks not in the counsel of the wicked,
nor stands in the way of sinners,
    nor sits in the seat of scoffers;
but his delight is in the law of the Lord,
    and on his law he meditates day and night.

He is like a tree
    planted by streams of water
that yields its fruit in its season,
    and its leaf does not wither.
In all that he does, he prospers.
The wicked are not so,
    but are like chaff that the wind drives away.

Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
    nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous;
 for the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
    But the way of the wicked will perish. (Psalm 1).

Prayer

Pray for our nation

Pray for the believers in Minneapolis, specifically the Alliance churches. The question they wrestle with is “How to bring Jesus into dark places.” Minneapolis is home to many immigrant-based CMA churches. Pray specifically for Zion Evangelical Church, an Ethiopian church. The church is doing well, and the people are joyful, thankful to be in America. Zion rents its space to several other churches, including a Spanish-speaking congregation and a Swahili congregation.

The office staff member that with said that sometimes we get lost in the politics and forget real people are involved. She asks for “prayer for the ICE agents as they carry out their duties, for healing of the political divide, and for believers to be a light in the darkness.”

Promises

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23).
