Holy Week Activities at CAC

Posted: March 30, 2014

On Sunday, April 13, we celebrate Palm Sunday. Our service will have the children’s choir and we will look together at Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem on the trail.

On Wednesday, April 16, we offer a Walk With Jesus, an interactive, multi-sensory, event that guides families through the footsteps of Jesus from the Last Supper, all the way to the empty tomb that first Easter morning. We will conclude the evening around the table as the disciples did for that Last Supper. For your convenience, dinner will be served from 5:15 until 6:30 with a suggested donation of $4 per person with a maximum of $16 per family. You can register for the meal at this link.

Then on Friday, April 18 at 7:00 pm, we will have our traditional Tenebrae service. Tenebrae is an ancient Latin word that means “darkness” or “shadows.” The lights gradually diminish during the service signifying the flight of Jesus’ followers and the death of our Lord. This is an emotionally moving service that seeks to leave us with a sense of the sorrow and loss experienced by the disciples.

On Sunday, it’s a celebration as we gather and look in the tomb. It’s empty. Our Savior is risen! Services will be held at 9:30 and 11:00 am.

Our desire as a staff is not just to create an emotional experience that will move us, but to remember and celebrate together all that Jesus has done for us. We desire that as we worship together these services will increase our knowledge of Christ, our love for Him, and that we will be moved to greater obedience and joy in Him.

Plan now to attend!

God bless,

Pastor Scott
