All ladies and girls are invited to our March GCW luncheon special event.
We will have a delicious salad and dessert lunch and then work together on a choice of 4 fabric crafts that we will create and donate for the craft fair at the South Atlantic District Spring Retreat. The craft fair proceeds go to support the International Workers’ Outfit Fund.
Our crafts are being coordinated by Bev Shamlin with help from Nancy Kimsey and Sheila Amos. These are easy crafts, so everyone will enjoy participating!
We will eat promptly at 12 noon, so please come to room 115 immediately following the church service. We will pray, eat, and do the crafts. No announcements. Cards will be on the table to sign for our international workers’ birthdays.
Bev Shamlin has provided this information and supplies needed:
- six sewing machines
- men’s ties, clean and in good shape
- coordinating 100% cotton fabric 1/8 yard and full width (from selvage to selvage) of fabric, two or three coordinating fabrics, or three coordinated fat quarters
- rotary cutters, cutting mats, and straight edges
- straight pins and needles
- large buttons
We need some who don’t want to sew that would be willing to be “forms” to shape the ties on. Please wear a basic collarless shirt. Also, we will need people just to snip fringe if we get enough fabric for the fabric scarves.
FYI: Pinterest has many ideas for repurposing men’s ties, so have some fun on your own and bring in your own items for the craft sale. We can have items for the craft sale that cost us nothing, but some fun time together!
Please let Bev (beverleycss [at] gmail [dot] com) know if you can bring any of the items we need.
Contact Sue Wrasman (swrasman [at] hotmail [dot] com) with any other questions regarding the event.
