Men’s Ministry

Men’s Ministry

The Alliance Men’s Program seeks to grow strong, biblically based men by developing their understanding of and dedication to biblical principles and practices. We describe this goal as biblically authentic manhood, a manhood that rejects the ever changing cultural definition of manhood and accepts the never changing, God pleasing description of man as God created and intended us to be.

We are dedicated to demonstrating Christian servant leadership in our homes, our churches, our work places, and our nation. We consider this to be a high and noble calling, one for which we will ultimately be held accountable by our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

The Cary Alliance Men’s Program consists of four pillars upon which we seek to build biblically authentic manhood: discipleship, prayer, service, and fellowship.

  • Men Sharpening Men – A number of men’s groups meet at various times and places throughout the week for a number of purposes: Bible study, prayer, accountability, and/or encouragement in family life. In addition to participating in a study or prayer group, there are opportunities for those gifted in teaching or facilitating discussion in small groups. Contact Pastor Cameron Tarrh (cameron [at] caryalliance [dot] org) for more information.
  • Men in Service – is a service ministry assists the widows and single moms of our church with routine home maintenance and handyman-type tasks, such as yard work or small painting jobs. The group also helps any church family where a father is ill and could use some help with routine home maintenance tasks he would normally do himself. Extensive carpentry or trade skills and experience is not required! Contact Tim Carleton (tc82 [at] outlook [dot] com).
  • Fellowship and Outreach Events – include the men’s breakfasts, men’s retreats, evangelistic dinners, golf outings, father/son weekends, Durham Bulls’ ballgames, and helping organize the annual church pig pickin’ and baptism service.
