Cary Alliance’s Ministry to Parents & Adults

Parenthood is both challenging and exhilarating! At Cary Alliance, we strive to help parents in their quest to nurture their children, demonstrate by example and teaching what it means to follow Christ, and experience God’s love within the day-to day reality of family life.

Parents of Young Kids (PYK) invites YOUR family to join one of our Kinship Groups!

Each of our groups consists of about 5 or 6 families. Each group meets once a month on Friday or Saturday nights, usually at church. During the meetings, the adults get together to share prayer requests, pray for each other, and play games. It's a great way to have some uninterrupted conversations with fellow parents! While the adults are enjoying each other's company, the kids are having fun with paid babysitters in another part of the church.

These groups are ongoing from year to year, and offer families a chance to "grow up together" with other families in the church over time. Our adults and kids form lasting, long term relationships with each other. Kinship groups are a great way for young families to get to know other young families on a deeper level.

If you're interested in visiting one of our kinship groups, please contact Karen Foss at (919) 363-9030, or Carolyn Stikeleather at (919) 388-7812.

Home School Ministry – The purpose of the CAC Home School Ministry is to provide home schooling families the opportunity to support and encourage one another as we educate our children at home.

We meet for Saturday morning breakfasts every other month as a time to enjoy fellowship together, encourage and mentor one another, and pray for our families. Beginning in January, we will be holding monthly family potluck lunches following the 11:00 church service.

For further information, please contact Kathryn Smith at (919) 233-0359 or mommy@twinsthentriplets.com.

Together on Planet Mom
“Where two or three come together…
there I am with them.” Matthew 18:20

Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) The purpose of MOPS is to meet the needs of every mom (urban and suburban, stay-at-home and working, teen, single, and married). Moms with different lifestyles all share a similar desire to be the very best moms they can be! MOPS is about celebrating motherhood, meeting needs, making connections and experiencing God's love. MOPS provides encouragement and fun, small group discussions, creative activities and nurturing child care, all from a Biblical perspective. MOPS meetings are the first and third Wednesdays, 9:30-11:30 A.M. September through May at the church.

One of the mothers in our current MOPS group recently shared about her family and how she came to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and how it is continuing to strengthen. It was recorded and you may listen to it now. mp3 download

Adult Kinships - There are several adult kinship groups which generally meet twice a month at people’s homes for two hours (usually Tuesday evenings). The groups stress fellowship and include times of study and prayer. Most will meet for dinners and other special events throughout the year. The present groups are led by Steve and Roma Thompson, Ray and Dot Cadmus, Bob and Maggie Chapman, and Fred and Diane Garcia. Groups are open to admitting new members, even though they may "close" for a period if their size gets to a certain number, usually 14-16 members. If interested in becoming a member of an adult kinship group, please contact Mike Miguel.
