Parents of Young Kids (PYK)
Parents of Young Kids (PYK) invites your family to join one of our Kinship Groups!
Each of our groups consists of about 5 or 6 families. Each group meets once a month on Friday or Saturday nights, usually at church. During the meetings, the adults get together to share prayer requests, pray for each other, and play games. It's a great way to have some uninterrupted conversations with fellow parents! While the adults are enjoying each other's company, the kids are having fun with paid babysitters in another part of the church.
These groups are ongoing from year to year, and offer families a chance to "grow up together" with other families in the church over time. Our adults and kids form lasting, long term relationships with each other. Kinship groups are a great way for young families to get to know other young families on a deeper level.
If you're interested in visiting one of our kinship groups, please contact Karen Foss at 363-9030, or Carolyn Stikeleather at 388-7812.
Joyful Singers
The Joyful Singers choir for children in grades K-5th has begun meeting on Wednesday evenings from 7:00PM to 8:15PM. If you missed the first meeting and want your child(ren) to participate, it's NOT TOO LATE!! Just show up next week (Wednesday at 7:00PM in Room 111) and get a registration form when you arrive.
This choir is open to anyone so please invite your neighbors and friends. We will sing for worship services on October 3rd and November 21st and several other times throughout the year.
Contact
Donna Fain, 463-7817, if you have questions or would like to sign up your child.
Missionary Kids Christmas
Christmas is coming and Women’s Missionary Connection is making plans to send gifts to our Missionary Kids. In order for the gifts to arrive in time for Christmas, we need to start now! If you would like to help by purchasing a gift, please sign up at the Women’s Ministry table next to the coffee bar. These gifts are a special way to show God’s love to our missionary families, letting them know we care. Thank you so much for your help! Contact Ruth Ann Stikeleather at (919) 832-8001 if you have questions.
Neighborhood Based Small Groups
The Fall semester for Small Groups will kick off the week of September 19th and runs through the end of December. Registration begins on August 29, by filling out the panel on the Sunday Bulletin, visiting the Welcome Center for personal assistance, or by using the On-Line Registration System that will be available on this website.
SMALL GROUPS offer a place for people to connect, to form friendships, and share life together. They provide a setting where questions are easier to ask, helping non-believers and believers alike to learn more about the Christian lifestyle and to receive encouragement and support from one another.
If you have any questions, please contact
Fred Garcia, (919) 803-8663 or
Scott Eichelberger at the church office, (919) 467-9331.
Precepts Bible Study
You can now sign up for the Precepts Fall Bible Study. We will be studying the Book of Matthew. This is a two-part study for a total of 15 weeks. Part 1,
The King & the Kingdom of Heaven (7 weeks) begins Monday, September 13th, 9:30AM to 11:30AM for the morning class and 7:00PM to 9:00PM for the evening class. Both classes will finish on Monday, November 1st. The cost of materials is $20. Contact:
Carol Jackson, (919) 832-5212, for more information or to sign up for this study. Please include if you will need child care for the morning study.
Women's Fall Bible Studies
Women's Bible studies will begin on Monday, September 13th at 9:30AM. Consider joining one of two studies:
Do you want to be known as a woman after God’s own heart? Join us in learning to know King David and his God. At times you will want to be just like King David, at others nothing like him at all. Certainly, he will capture your interest if you let him, and surely God will change your heart if you let Him. A Heart Like His: Seeking the Heart of God Through a Study of David, by Beth Moore, begins September 13th at 9:30AM in Room 112. Kelley Miller will facilitate this video series. Please purchase your workbook, available at Lifeway for $14.95, prior to our first meeting.
Do you want to grow in your love for and knowledge of Jesus? Join this study and learn how to make time for Jesus each day and how to make it something you look forward to, not something you have to do. The goal of this study is for women to know Jesus personally and to be changed as a result of this relationship, becoming women whose lives bear witness to the reality of His presence in their families, marriages, workplaces, churches, and communities. Intimacy with God: Establishing a Vibrant Quiet Time and Prayer Time, by Tara Furman, facilitated by Maggie Chapman, begins September 13th at 9:30AM Fireside. Meetings for this eight week study will be on the second and fourth Mondays of the month only. Workbooks will be available for purchase for $16.00 at the first meeting.
Sign up for either study at the Women’s Ministries Table.
Senior Adult Potluck
We will be having another Senior Adult Potluck on Saturday, September 25th from 5:00PM to 7:00PM. Doors open at 4:30PM. Please join us again this year for another enjoyable time of fun, food, and fellowship. This ministry is geared toward folks age 60 and over, but all are welcome!
Click here to sign up online. Any questions, please contact
Paul & Karen Siciliano, 342-9671.
Adopt-A-Highway
New team members are needed for our Adopt-A-Highway program at CAC. Our group cleans along Ten Ten Rd. from Holly Springs Rd. to Kildaire Farm Rd. at least four times per year, with some members doing “mini-pick-ups” in between. The program was begun even before the new church building was completed, and it allows us to serve our community in a visible way. Teens age 12-17 may participate with adult supervision and a completed permission form. Adults and teens new to the team must view a very brief online training video. Contact
Nancy Kimsey to receive more information.
Coffee Bar Ministry
You have the wonderful opportunity to meet visitors, develop relationships, and minister to the body of Christ by simply monitoring the coffee bar on Sunday mornings! Volunteers would serve one Sunday a month, so 10-15 people are needed for the Coffee Bar Ministry Team. We would love to have adults, youth, and even families (we kindly ask that children be at least 16 years of age) involved. Because of limited space behind the coffee bar, the number of those working each Sunday would be limited to three. Training sessions will be held ahead of time. The Deaconesses will be overseeing the team and providing the necessary supplies. If you would like the privilege of serving in this ministry, contact
Sarah Joyce, (919) 906-8947.
MOPS Registration
MOPS registration for 2010-2011 is now open! MOPS International exists to encourage, equip, and develop every mother of preschoolers (birth-Kindergarten) to realize her potential as a woman, mother, and leader in the name of Jesus Christ. Moms all share the desire to be the very best mothers we can be. MOPS groups can help.
MOPS meets on the first and third Wednesday mornings of the month from 9:30AM to 11:30AM. Meetings begin in September and continue through May. Registration forms are available at the Welcome Center or you can register online at the link below. The registration fee is $23.95. Make checks payable to “Cary Alliance.” Space is limited, so be sure to reserve your spot early!

MOPS Needs Children's Workers
MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) is in need of "moppet" (children's) workers. There are openings to serve with all age groups. Volunteers work in the classroom once or twice a month. MOPS meets on the first and third Wednesdays of each month from 9:30AM to 11:30AM from September through May. We are very short on workers for this coming year so please pray about helping with this important ministry. Contact
Rosemary Rutledge, 771-2145 for more information.

Open Play Volleyball occurs Tuesday evenings at 7:00PM at the church. Come join us!
