AWANA Clubs

AWANA is a youth and children’s ministry committed to reaching boys and girls with the Gospel of Christ and training them to serve Him. Each week children across the globe attend AWANA clubs where they play games, memorize bible verses, and listen to bible stories.
AWANA is an excellent ministry both for introducing children to the gospel and a challenging program for committed Christian children to grow deeper in their faith through the study and memorization of the Bible.
When do AWANA Clubs meet?
AWANA clubs meets each Sunday evening throughout the traditional school year at Cary Alliance Church. AWANA begins August 28th this year.
What ages and grades are included in AWANA?
We have four clubs:
- Cubbies – Age 3 years – Preschool (must be 3 on or before August 31st)
- Sparks – Kindergarten – 2nd Grade
- Truth & Training – 3rd – 5th Grades
- Trek – 6th – 8th grades
All groups meet from 5:40-7:15 PM.
What does AWANA stand for?
AWANA stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (from II Timothy 2:15).
What happens during an AWANA Club Meeting?
An AWANA Club meeting has three parts:
- Game Time – includes fun, crazy games in our Multipurpose Room. (Athletic shoes should be worn by all clubbers during AWANA.)
- Handbook Time –children complete sections of their AWANA handbook and recite Bible verses, moving at his or her own pace through the sections.
- Council Time – children participate in songs, Bible stories, and other activities that will aid in their spiritual growth.
What are AWANA Points?
AWANA participants earn AWANA Points each time they attend a meeting. For Sparks and T&T, points may be earned for wearing their uniform, arriving on time, bringing their Bible and handbook, completing handbook sections, attending Sunday School, and bringing new friends. Club members can use points to buy toys and other fun things at the “AWANA Store.” (The Cubbies and Trek programs have a slightly different format for points. Please contact the appropriate Director for details.)
What costs are involved?
AWANA requires the purchase of a uniform and a registration fee for each child. The registration fee cover the cost of the AWANA handbook and all supplies. We want everyone to be included. Confidential scholarship assistance is available if financial challenges make these costs difficult for your family. Our church gains no profit from any part of AWANA – it is a ministry that we gladly support.
Registration (1st child) $40.00 each additional child $35.00 Uniform $15.00
